RUN IT'S A DRAGON!!!!!

character from last quarter.... doing a rehash. design is geared to animation. was trying to figure out overall shapes and be rather minimalistic. (obviously the hair needs attention... maybe.... hm.) started as just a doodle during critique in anim 2, toying with design and proportions, playing with different pens :) then did a quick turn. structure is a mixture of loomis body/facial shape and jacques figure shape.

i'd like to animate her through the storyboard i originally drew her in, if i have the time. name? i thought maybe laetita, after our wonderful lacoste secretary-coordinator person, but i think it's a bit too fancy. any suggestions from the peanut gallery?

amanda the arachnid slayer!!!

a sketch for the sequential art society poster. :)

amanda the arachnid slayer rides again!!!! looking a bit taller than usual. this is because i only had the pose in my head as i was sketching; not who the character was. but then, "what's she holding?" and the immediate answer from my head was "a broom." and the obvious follow-up of that was that it was amanda standing there triumphant over her hairy eight-legged destroyer of peace. .....and cinder block.

i tell you, i don't know who it is when my head talks back to me like this, but it works.

first meeting of sketch club... almost 40 people came! amazing things happen when a professor offers extra credit for drawing out of class :)

WHOAZ MAN

lack of updates = lack of scanner. this quarter I'm taking drawing for sequential art with Tom Lyle (of spiderman and batman/robin fame! YESSS!!!!) materials and techniques for sequential art with Dove (the father of three) and animation 2 with Debra moorshead of liverpool fame... and she also was a tweener for Richard Williams for "Who Framed Rogre Rabbit" but quit after 6 months because evidently he was a bit of a slave driver.

no matter. i've already done a LOT of drawing for class, but I need to get them all scanned in. keep watching :)

as a tide-over, here's my christmas/newyear's email card for this year because i forgot to post it earlier. in all of its Lama glory:
